Why Most Property Websites Do Not Convert (And How to Fix Yours)

The five most common conversion killers on real estate websites, and the specific fixes that turn visitors into leads.

Feb 28, 2024

Most real estate websites look good but fail at their primary job: generating leads. Here are the five most common reasons why.

First, buried contact forms. If a visitor has to scroll to the bottom of a page to find your contact form, you have already lost most of them. Put a clear call to action above the fold on every page.

Second, generic stock photography. Potential tenants and buyers can spot fake photos instantly. Use real images of your actual properties. If the property is not built yet, use high-quality renderings, not generic skyscraper photos.

Third, missing trust signals. Testimonials, case studies, and client logos reduce friction. A visitor who sees that you have worked with recognizable names is more likely to reach out.

Fourth, slow load times. Every second of delay reduces conversions. Large unoptimized images are the usual culprit. Compress everything and use a CDN.

Fifth, mobile-unfriendly design. Over half of real estate searches happen on mobile. If your site requires pinching and zooming, you are losing half your audience. Responsive design is not optional.
